Video Recording and Security

Before you left for vacation, you installed top of the line home security products – dual motion sensors, window/door sensors, a first-rate control panel with 24-hour monitoring. After arming your system and asking your neighbors to “keep an eye out” on your property, you left with the peace of mind knowing that everything will be safe.

When you returned home, you discovered that your home had been vandalized. How could this happen? Your alarms had sounded, the police were on their way, and yet, the intruder escaped with valuables. The burglar might have swiftly broken in and quickly grabbed the first thing of value in sight. Or the intruder might have hastily snatched an item from your lawn. Whatever is the case, you became victim of what you thought was impossible. What do you do now?

What you need now – sadly it is not there – to recover the stolen goods and bring the perpetrator to justice is visual evidence of the intruder. Video surveillance monitors would fill in that hole in your security system. While the lights and alarms alert you and others to an intrusion in process, security cameras supply evidence against the criminal after the fact.

Video cameras can easily be integrated into your current home security system. Motion detectors can be used to activate cameras as well as alarms and lights. Yard lights or infrared illuminators can be used to allow the camera to “see” at night. You can even program your system to allow you to operate your cameras and watch what your cameras see from online.

Furthermore, imagine the relief you will have going to the police with a visual record of the perpetrator – facial features, identifying characteristics, a license plate number, etc. Having these details may mean the difference between being a helpless victim of a burglary or giving assistance to the apprehension of the intruders. It is the difference between a successful home security system and “fairly good coverage.” It is the difference between home security and home anxiety.
